Comparing Apples to Oranges!
When the dishtowel arrived in the mail, my first reaction was what have gotten myself into? I immediately filed it away - hoping for divine inspiration. Periodically I would look at it and write a note, reminding myself to get started. As I reveiw my journal, I dd that a lot usually with a note that said "dishtowel - RATZ!!!!"
On December 10th, Bob died - life will never be the same. Work is my solace. Started collecting imagery. Washed the dishtowel - halfway hoping it would dissolve, but knew if it did, Susie would surely have a spare.
The intial drawing was a woman holding an apple pie - rode that horse til it dropped. Filed that image for later use. Just can't figure out how to incorporate the calendar....
Life is consumed by Bob's death - it's cold, wet and gray - like my heart. Why do I live in Oregon? Prime the canvas and start stenciling a checherboard background - always a safe place to begin. Feeling so pressured..

Suddenly clarity - trying to make sense of life is like trying to compare apples to oranges. It just can't be done.
Editor's note: Bob was Wendy's husband's business partner and their dear friend, who died unexpectedly this winter.
