"Twelve Months of Bitchin Was Heard In Mom's Kitchen, or Every Co Dependent I Know Has A Really BIG BUT " is a Healing Quilt. I gathered the main materials together over a year before I knew what I would do with them... I just knew they'd combine to make a visual statement that would be almost impossible to ignore. The hot pink fake fur was acquired during a midnight foray to Walmart with Susan while I Zombied at her house (did a Turtle Art Camp), so it seemed only fitting that it played a major role in her Challenge.

I've always been a painter in my heart, and since the subject of this piece is so close to my heart, the painted figures were a more natural choice for me. I've always considered my images to be more of a "painting with fabric" style, so I finally combined the technique with the inner vision.

Art is food for my Soul. The creative process itself is my joie de vive. Making Art has become my raison d'etre. If I didnt do it, I'd probably disappear, or float away, or worse yet, lapse into mediocrity!!! But it hasn't always been this way.

My life has been spent largely on a quest for Spiritual knowledge and for Healing on all levels. Making Art has been the cure for everything that ailed me, physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Of course, three years of intensive Gestalt, EMDR therapy, and a Sacred Geometry program called The Balancing Program have been my proverbial Cosmic Enema as well!!!

By far my greatest mentor, at least on the Art Plane, has been Susan Shie. My greatest breakthrough in self-awareness came out of her class, "The Healing Quilt," at Peters Valley in 1996. She and her sweet husband Jimmy have allowed me to give myself permission to be IMPERFECT in making my Art. For someone who had always striven for and fallen miserably short of "perfection," license to be imperfect, unmeasured and askew was more than just a relief....it enabled me to free myself to make real true Art from my heart, and thereby to save my own life.

Now I can do what I came here to do... help others heal through Art. Having spent my entire adult life on the Vertical Path, as some call it, I knew enough about Universal Law to point the way to those who came to me for help. However, it wasn't until I freed my Artist's Spirit, gave myself permission to allow the floodgates to open creatively, that I have become a clear enough channel to be of true assistance to others on the Path.
